As a thank you to Georgia educators, the Georgia Aquarium and Barnes &
Noble Booksellers would like to invite you and a guest to a free night
at the Aquarium with giveaways, jazz and Aquarium admission on Friday,
September 26, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. You do not need to reserve a spot for your guest.
The Aquarium's Learning Loop will be open with education staff
stationed throughout to answer any questions about the Georgia
Aquarium's new Georgia Performance Standards (GPS) educational
experiences. Giveways and parking will be provided. Please enter the
building through the Member's Entrance.
Teachers and administrators will also have an opportunity to learn
about Barnes & Noble's services and programs for educators, including
institutional purchasing discounts, bookfair fundraisers, school tours
and in-store events, such as principal storytimes and children's
performances. Barnes & Nobles also offers an array of books, workbooks
and activity kits that focus on enhancing and supporting learning in
the sciences, such as earth and the environment, chemistry, physics,
biology and geology.
This year Barnes & Noble bookstores across the country will be
celebrating Pre-K through 12th grade educators the week of October
11th – 19th, teachers will receive 25%* off their book purchases and
10% off DVDs and music at Barnes & Noble locations nationwide when
they present their valid Barnes & Noble Educators Discount Card. In a
kick off celebration for our annual teacher appreciation week, Barnes
and Noble has teamed up with the Georgia Aquarium and Sparkfly to host
the largest teacher appreciation event in the southeast.
