Students in grades 3-5 are invited to participate in our first annual Elementary District Science Fair. The fair will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012. It’s being held in conjunction with the Elementary Science Olympiad at Walton High School.
Projects may be entered into the district science fair in one of two categories:
- Individual project
- Group project (up to 3 students)
Project Entry
Top-place science fair winners (maximum 3 winners per school) from each school are qualified to participate in the district fair. Science fair coordinators at each school will inform winning students or student groups about their participation in the district science fair. If you have not had a school science fair, then up to three students from your school may be invited to submit a project.
Each science fair project must consist of a student-led scientific investigation (following accepted scientific methods) and a display to present the investigation results to judges and other science fair attendees. Students should follow their school’s science fair guidelines when investigating and presenting their science fair projects. Biological and zoological projects are acceptable at the discretion of a school’s science fair team and/or science fair coordinator. Schools are strongly encouraged not to allow students to experiment with molds or bacteria of any kind, as these can be particularly hazardous to student health. Volcanoes will not be accepted as experiments.
Registration
Please complete the online registration form for each project by visiting: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HHKW882 (3 project entries per school) by February 22, 2012.

The Science Olympiad and County Science fair were really awesome. It was great seeing all those kids so excited about science and the challenges. Way to go to all the kids, coaches and parent.
The Science Fair was equally awesome. The projects really showed great imagination and thirst for knowledge. There were really some interesting projects.
Will the results of the Olympiad and Fair be post here and on the Cobb County School District site? I thought I would see them by now.
Thanks for put together these outstanding science events.
