Vocabulary Strategies

The science department has been working on creating interactive science journals for the past couple of years.  The majority of trainings surrounding the use of the interactive journals has occurred during our MSP (Math Science Partnership) program with Kennesaw State University.  Electronic samples of the interactive journals for 5th grade will be forth-coming.

In an attempt to meet the needs of multiple grade levels and share strategies that work with a variety of content areas (math, social studies, etc.) we have been working on vocabulary resources.  Download the Vocabulary Strategies resource below to view concrete examples of vocab activities that go way beyond your basic dictionary definitions!

Sally Creel, Science Supervisor, is available to come out and work with your grade level teams or schools to review these strategies in greater detail upon request.  Just let me know if you need me!  E-mail requests sally.creel@cobbk12.org are the most efficient methods.
